The Ashland Rotary Foundation was created in 1971 by members of the Rotary Club of Ashland to receive, hold and administer funds and other property which will be used to assist local students to achieve a higher education or vocational degree.
The Foundation awards grants and scholarships to graduating Ashland High School seniors and to students enrolled at Southern Oregon University. From 1990 through 2010 the Foundation has aided hundreds of deserving students. The amount and number of scholarships is based on interest earned on the Foundation's corpus which is approaching $1,000.000.00, most of which has been contributed by members.
