Rotary First Harvest

Rotary First Harvest of Oregon has a mission to alleviate hunger in Southern Oregon and Northern California, providing effective solutions to the opposing problems of hunger and waste while using the power and networking of Rotary to feed the hungry with surplus nutritious produce, meats and fruit; to use existing food distribution and transportation systems; to develop new partnerships for collection of foodstuffs, and to maintain minimal operating overhead.

Rotary District 5110 has identified Rotary First Harvest as a district project. All Rotary Clubs in the District, which encompasses the southern half of Oregon and northern section of California, work together to solve the basic issue of hunger. Each individual Rotary identifies the need in their community and helps acquire and distribute the product.

Tracy Goodrich is the Executive Director of Rotary First Harvest of Oregon.

How can Jackson County Oregon residents get involved with this project? Between harvesting local crops, manning booths at fairs, distributing food or providing financial support, there are many ways to support this mission to alleviate hunger for Southern Oregon residents in need.
