Wine Raffle

The annual Wine Raffle is the single largest fund raising event of the Rotary Club of Ashland which supports club projects entirely.

On 9 April 2009 the drawing took place.

Congratulations to the winners of the raffle whihc included the top prize of an Instant Wine Cellar -- 130 bottles of fine wine.   Total amount raised for the project $22,500.  Thank you all for purchasing tickets and making this event a big success.

Co-Chairs of the event were Kathleen Mackris and Kerry Kencarin.

The object of the Wine Raffle is to have each member donate one bottle of fine wine.   Tickets are sold to members and others.  The winning tickets receives an Instant Wine Cellar with about 130 bottles of wine.  Other drawings include single cases of wine, adding eight additional winners.  A large committee of members participates in Wine Raffle activities.

The Wine Raffle drawing is usually held in early March before Spring break.  Each member is asked to purchase or sell at least $150 worth of tickets.  They sell for $10 each.

The person who sell the most raffle tickets also receives a special prize.

Proceeds from this event are contributed toward projects supported by the Club.  Among these projects are the Easter Egg Hunt, Holiday Dinner, Basketball Tournament, International Youth Exchange, Group Study Exchange, World Community Service and many other projects.

Thank you Rotarians for your support of the Wine Raffle.
