The Rotary Foundation

The Rotary Foundation is the charitable and program side of Rotary International. Created in 1917 by RI’s sixth president, Arch C. Klumph, as an endowment fund “to do good in the world,” it is one of three foundations supported by members of the Rotary Club of Ashland.

The Rotary Foundation—TRF—transforms our gifts into projects that change lives both close to home and around the world. As the charitable arm of Rotary, we tap into a global network of Rotarians who invest their time, money, and expertise into our priorities, such as eradicating polio and promoting peace. Foundation grants empower Rotarians to approach challenges such as poverty, illiteracy, and malnutrition with sustainable solutions that leave a lasting impact.

Strong financial oversight, a stellar charity rating, and a unique funding model mean that we make the very most of our contributions. Give and become a part of Rotary’s life-changing work!

Contribute to Rotary's PolioPlus campaign
Rotary's number one priority is eradicating polio. The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation matches every Rotary dollar with two dollars from their foundation through 2018.

Members of the Rotary Club of Ashland have contributed more than $1,158,000 to The Rotary Foundation since our club was chartered in 1941. Members are asked to contribute at least $100 per year in support of TRF. If $100 or more is not possible, every dollar given is still put to work.

When Rotarians contribute at least $1,000 to The Rotary Foundation, they are named Paul Harris Fellows, in memory of Rotary's founder, Paul Harris. If $1,000 is given in one year, a member becomes a member of the Paul Harris Society. Major Donor status begins with a cumulative gift of $10,000 or more followed by incremental levels up to one million dollars. Arch Klumph Society members donate at least $250,000 cumulatively to TRF. Each additional number for a Paul Harris Fellow represents an additional $1,000 donation. For expectancies in estate planning of at least $10,000, we become a member of the Bequest Society; Benefactors have designated $1,000 or more.

Our TRF chair, Lynn Thompson, would be glad to answer any questions or assist with giving arrangements. Lynn can be reach by email at: lkthompson@hotmail.com.
